For this 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga we have both private and small group tours. Tour Program :

Day 1 : Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Roses & Dades Valley

On your first day, you will meet your driver at your hotel/riad at 8:00 am and start the 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga passing through the high Atlas Mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco Tizi-Tichka (2260 m high) offering impressive views of valleys, mountains and many Berber villages nearby. Heading towards Ouarzazate, you will visit the UNESCO protected site of Ait Ben Haddou, a most impressive Kasbah and well-preserved fortress in Morocco near Ouarzazate. Many of the Hollywood movies were filmed there such as the Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Game of Thrones, etc. You will continue your journey towards Dades Valley, through the Mgouna, Skoura (Berber villages around the valley) and you will spend the night in Dades Gorge, enjoying your view and dinner.

Day 2 : Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga

On your second day, you will leave Dades valley in the morning, after your breakfast and shower and head towards Todra Gorges, one of the most beautiful and impressive canyons in Morocco, which is so tight that it is named after the human “throat” or gorge. You will have some time to walk through the canyon and enjoy the sight and the sound of the river passing through. From Todra Gorge you will continue towards Merzouga through breath-taking landscapes and along with many oases of palm trees. We will pass through the small town of Erfoud, where you’ll feel the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet and then continue to Merzouga. Depending on your arrival time to Merzouga, you will have some time to relax before the camel trek, or you will start the camel trekking right away to spend the night in the desert in a Berber camp. The camel trek starts around 17:00 -18:00 in the summer and around 15:00 – 16:00 in the winter and takes around 1 hour. When you arrive at the camp, you will enjoy the sights of the Sahara dunes and the sunset, you will be welcomed with a traditional Moroccan tea, later on, the dinner will be served in the main tent (restaurant). After dinner, you will enjoy the desert music played by locals and a campfire. Don’t forget to look up in the sky, to find an amazing view of countless stars. Please keep in mind that the campfire is only during the cold months (at night) and when there is no wind.

Day 3 : Merzouga - Alnif - N'kob - Agdz - Marrakech

Today you'll have to wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise in the dunes. After the breakfast and shower, we will start the journey back to Marrakech, through different areas and different Berber villages ( Alnif, Tazarine, N'kob ) until Ouarzazate, where we will use the same road back to Marrakech. You will arrive in Marrakech in the evening around 18:00 - 19:00 depending on your departure in the morning and the duration of the stops on the way.
